After a pleasant ride on the night train we had a warm day here in the capital of Laos.
The Scandinavian bakery could offer me a ”semla” on fetisdagen, very nice 🙂
Then we finished the day at the fountain square with dinner and drinks.

Bangkok, Thailand
After arriving we had a little goodbye dinner to some of the guys.
A lazy day yesterday led us to another lazy day today. All we did was visiting the royal palace and a boat ride on the river.
Tonight we´ll meet some newcomers and a new tour leader 🙂

Shaken and stirred
Siem Reap, Cambodia |
Siem Reap, Cambodia
Arrived after a long and bumpy bus trip from Phnom Phen.
The day after we had a very early morning call, 4 am, yaaawn. A short bus ride took us to Angkor Wat to meet the sunrise. Together with a few other we waited by the pool in front of the temple and eventually the sun climbed up over the horizon. It was very hard to get a view without to many people interfering but I think I got a few good ones.
Next we had a nice big breakfast with pancakes, toast, pineapple juice and coffee. Refueled we walked to Angkor Thom and the Bayon temple. It was really nice to be able to get inside the temple because it was getting warm now. Our guide talked a lot and in some broken English and it was tough to understand parts of it.
A few hours in the heat makes you hungry so it was time for lunch 🙂
The last visit for the day was Ta Prohm, the ”Tomb raider” location. The only thing missing was Lara Croft 🙂
Back to town and a little rest before dinner with entertainment, apsara dance at the Temple Balcony, nice.
Next day we just wandered around the town and did some shopping until it was time for my cooking class at Le Tigre de Papier.
We could choose what we wanted to cook from the menu before the chef showed us around the market.
We all did some different things like Khmer Amok, Thom Yum, Spring rolls a.s.o.
When everything was cooked we had a big meal together.
That night me and Jo went to the Phare Circus and a show called Khmer Metal. Ten young men and women did a show combining acrobatics and music to an ”acromusical”. It was fantastic, a must see if you ever get the chance.

Phnom Penh, Cambodia
After a 7h bus trip from Saigon we arrived in Phnom Penh after a smote transition on the border. Had a few at FCC overlooking the Mekong before dinner and now it´s bedtime 🙂
Next day:
An early breakfast and then we were of to S-21, or Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. It is a horrible place with a gruesome story to tell. 20 000 people tortured and killed in this former high school. All the bloodstains on the floors and the pictures on the walls of young and old gives you a very uncomfortable feeling.
Then we drove to the actual burial site, ”The Killing Fields”. Here we walked among and on the remnants of all these people, very creepy 😦 .
